Have you been in custody?
Children's Rights Alliance for England
What do they do?
The Children's Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) protects the human rights of children in the UK. They are running a project for two years, to help end violence against children and young people in custody
Custody means:
Locked institutions where children and young people are held after being charged, convicted or sentenced of a criminal offence. In England, this includes young offender institutions, secure training centres and secure children’s homes.
This is a special project because children and young people with direct experience of custody will be coming up with their own solutions for ending violence.
About the role
You need to be:
- under 18 years old
- in custody now or in the past
- a good listener
- passionate about ending violence in custody
You will be working with 9 other children and young people who know what it’s like to be in custody. You will help adults from CRAE find out the views and experiences of other children and young people, and campaign together to make changes so other children and young people don't have to suffer violence.
Payment
All your expenses will be paid including travel.
