Wanted: Connexions Youth Advisory Panel
Aged 18-19 or up to 25 years with additional needs? Would you like to be part of a young people’s forum helping to shape the future of Connexions for young people?
What do they do?
Connexions Oxfordshire gives information, advice, guidance and support to young people aged 13 -19 (and up to 25 years with additional needs) as they move through being teenagers into becoming adults and getting jobs.
About the role
If you join the Advisory Panel, you will be a member of a friendly new young people’s forum which will raise and discuss any issues brought up by young people about Connexions. This is a chance self-develop, help other young people and make a difference to the Connexions service. If you join you will have the chance to do lots of new things, including :
- attend meetings 3 - 4 times a year
- be invited to other events and opportunities
- interview new members of staff
- conduct telephone surveys
- review marketing materials and publications
- talk to the Young Trustees who sit on the Board of Connexions
- review and change feedback cards and online surveys
- find out the thoughts and concerns of young people in your area to discuss at Panel meetings and feeding back information to them after meetings

Payment
This is a voluntary position, but a £10 voucher will be given for each meeting attended as a thank you for your time. There will also be the chance to get Accreditation through an Oxfordshire Young People’s Award, to work towards the v50 volunteering award, get references and add to your CV. Training will be given if and when necessary.
