Once you are 14

Your rights once you are 14 years old.

Alcohol

You can go into a pub or a bar on your own, but you can only get soft drinks.

Employment

You can get a part-time job - but you can’t work for more than two hours on a school day or Sunday. Also you can’t work during school hours or before 7am or after 7pm

During the holidays you may not work for more than 5 hours a day nor more than 25 hours a week.

Legal Issues

If you are convicted of a criminal offence you can get a fine from the Youth Court up to a maximum of £1000.

Weapons

You can possess an air weapon but you must be supervised by someone aged 21 or over, or use it a rifle club or shooting gallery
