About me

Hi, I’m in year ten and currently studying at St. Gregory the Great School. A few of my favourite subjects are History, PE and English. I go to Oxford Sea Cadet unit and love any kind of Sport. 

Why did I stand?

I’ve noticed over recent years how young people have so many opinions that just aren’t being heard. There are young, smart, interesting minds producing smart minds, and I feel very strongly about those ideas being heard! I wanted to be elected as YOUR MYP because the young people of Oxfordshire have a right to voice their opinions, your opinions. I believe I can represent the views of young people in Oxfordshire well and help them achieve an Oxfordshire that they want, a better Oxfordshire, and an Oxfordshire to be proud of.

My key issues are:

  • Transport
  • Education

Transport

I believe that one of the key issues for this year is, like last year, the need for a lower price of transport around Oxfordshire. We deserve the right for a cheap way to get to get around, be it to school or into town to socialise. 

Education

I believe that there needs to be more opportunity and support as we head into Years 10 and 11, a wider range of sources for which to improve studying with, but also more choice within our chosen GCSE options. If we aren’t having fun, then we aren’t learning, we should have the right to choose a topic that interests us, but is also within the limits of the National Curriculum.

How will I find out what the key issues are for young people?

Your voice! To find out the issues that other young people face throughout the County, there needs to be more input from Schools into what their pupils desire from them and the Council. As the voice for the young people, it’s important that a clear message be established for what the young people really want.

How will I change things? 

I will try my utmost to change and improve Oxfordshire, even if it means working day and night, taking my views as high as possible, or campaigning for months on end, because all you deserve is the best, and my best is all I can give. I am dedicated for a better Oxfordshire, for me, for you, for all those that will be affected by the changes I hope to introduce.
