2010 Manifesto - Alex Longworth-Krafft

Alex Longworth-Krafft - UKYP Candidate 2010
My name is Alex Longworth-Krafft. I am 17 years old, currently studying at Henley College.
I am hard working and feel I am able to be influential and I am always pushing myself the extra step in order to achieve my objectives. I am also a very independent person and so able to see both sides of an argument.
Why d
I always wanted to make a difference when I was younger — to change policies for the benefit of young people. I have always been good at giving people a voice for their ideas. I believe that I am good at representing people and putting forward their views.
What are the key issues?
- Media
- Transport
- Youth venues
- Education
Youth Venues
One key problem is the lack of venues for young people; for example bowling allies, ice rinks and social clubs. Newspapers constantly complain about the number of young people on the streets and the rise in underage drinking. This is partly due to the lack of places to go. I
Education
Education is very important because whether we like it or not we are all involved in it. Often young people don’t have much choice with regard to GCSEs. One thing I would like to change is to have a greater choice of subjects, making more available and so reducing the number of subjects forced upon us.
Finally...
I will constantly keep up to date with changes and developments that affect young people and will give you a voice and listen to what you have to say on issues that affect us all.
Thank you for reading.
