Oxfordshire County Council is one of 33 local authorities offering VTalent placements to 15 volunteers in Children’s Services to start Feb 2010.

About the role: VTalent year is a major new national programme for young people who want to work with children and young people but need to get a foot on the ladder.

If you are 16-25 and want to:

  • work with children, young people and their families
  • study in your own time
  •  meet people from different walks of life
  • be given some direction and support then VTalent could be for you!
  • Volunteers will all receive:
  •  Induction training at a residential training week with other v volunteers nationally, and with Oxfordshire volunteers at the beginning of April 2010
  •  Full time placement within the service, with management support from the ‘host’ team and from the Placement Co-ordinator
  •  Learning programme to gain Level 2 community volunteering qualification by the end of the placement
  •  Support to plan your future career and funding to support further education or training and more!
